ROOM INTEGRITY TESTING
Imagine having installed a fire suppression system and it does not function correctly because the room was not adequately sealed and the suppression agent leaked out before a fire could be extinguished. Or the room was sealed too tightly and the suppression release damaged the structure of the room!
To ensure the effectiveness of your gaseous fire suppression system, testing the 'integrity' of the room is vital to ensure your protected area is well sealed and your gaseous agent won't escape, causing the fire to possibly re-ignite.
We include integrity testing with all the systems we Design and install.
We can carry out room integrity testing on a wide range of suppression systems and can carry out annual integrity testing of a wide range of manufacturers systems.
We can provide pressure relief dampers if required and can offer an installation service.
The effectiveness of a gaseous fire suppression system can only by guaranteed by regular ongoing maintenance of that facility.
As part of an annual program of system maintenance, integrity testing of the protected enclosure must be undertaken to ensure that, on discharge, the extinguishing agent achieves the correct concentration at the necessary height for the minimum required retention time.
ISO 15004 states that an enclosure protected by a gaseous extinguishing system must be integrity tested on an annual basis or when changes are made to the enclosure boundary such as new cable penetrations.
Riddor Safety International is extremely experienced in room integrity testing. A room integrity test checks the ability of the enclosure to retain an effective concentration of gas, which is a critical to the safe operation of the system. It is undertaken upon commissioning, and annually thereafter.
